In realtà si serve di loro, dopo averli ipnotizzati, per vendicarsi di quanti ebbero un ruolo nella sua condanna. Uno di questi in effetti confessa la sua colpa ma, un furioso incendio scoppiato nel negozio distrugge anche il laboratorio, vanificando l'opera vendicativa. Efficacissimo ed ancora valido horror che riesce a unire temi fantastici con quelli scientifici. Browing si conferma maestro del genere, coadiuvato dalla luciferina lucidità di Barrymore.".
