Noah Kahan recently made a memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live, showcasing his talent both visually and sonically. His performance was a must-see, as he captivated audiences with his unique sound and stage presence. If you haven’t had the chance to watch or listen to Noah Kahan on SNL, be sure to check it out for a truly unforgettable experience.
Returning for his second musical guest stint on Saturday Night Live, Noah Kahan performed two songs from his just released The Great Divide full length.
Some two and a half years since his December 2023 SNL debut, the 29-year old singer/songwriter opened with “The Great Divide” co-written by Gabe Simon.
About his fourth studio album, Rolling Stone‘s Jon Dolan wrote in a review that the Great Divide is “a smart synthesis of Bon Iver’s ethereal falsetto indie-folk, Zach Bryan‘s everyman storytelling, Mumford & Sons’ acoustic stomp, and a Taylor Swiftian eye for lyrical detail, not to mention well-constructed bridges — all carefully weaved, well-wrought, and rendered with a tasteful light touch and a real pop sensibility.”
Gaining notoriety with “Stick Season,” the Vermont-based musician, who doesn’t mind comparisons to what some have described pejoratively as “stomp clap hey” music, said:
“I always thought the millennial 2010s thing was brilliant, and I never stopped loving it.” “I’ve always felt very defensive of their sound. A lot of times people [hear my music] and are like, ‘This is just some Mumford & Sons shit.’ I’m like, ‘I love Mumford & Sons! Thank you for the compliment!’”
With multi-show stops in Boston, Chicago, New York, Denver and Seattle, Noah Kahan will launch The Great Divide Tour next month in Orlando, and he will be headlining Stateside, Rolling Stone‘s first music festival, on July 4th in Kingston, New York.
