The individual identified as D4vd is currently the subject of a murder investigation.
The musician known as D4vd has been named a target of a grand jury investigation in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, emerged as a suspect after the teen’s remains were discovered in September last year, inside his black Tesla Model X that had been impounded in the Hollywood Hills.
No charges have so far been filed against the singer.
Since last November, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has been presenting evidence to a grand jury at the Los Angeles Superior Court, the Los Angeles Times reported.
According to a petition for attendance of an out-of-state witness, a prosecutor said D4vd “may be involved in the death of 14-year-old victim Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who may have been a victim of foul play”.
Rivas Hernandez’s “severely decomposed, dismembered body” was found around 10:30 am on 8 September 2025 after the manager of a Hollywood tow company contacted the LAPD, prosecutors said in the petition.
A citizen had reported the Tesla abandoned on 26 August.
According to the petition, D4vd was on tour at the time the vehicle was impounded.
In November, a police source exclusively told People that the musician was “not cooperating” with authorities and had not cooperated from the beginning of the investigation.
