• 0:30 | with his talent behind the

• 0:31 | I am lucky today to be joined
  by the great Jeff Vlaming.
• 0:35 | Jeff, how are you?
• 0:36 | – I’m doing great.
  I’m glad we were able to do this
• 0:39 | again this season,
  given the circumstances.
• 0:42 | I think this is wonderful.
• 0:44 | – Yeah the internet has allowed
  us to continue our jobs
• 0:47 | and continue our lives
  and it is pretty amazing.
• 0:50 | – I just want to say before we
  get into the details
• 0:52 | of the second episode of
  season seven,
• 0:54 | I think we were afforded a
  wonderful opportunity this
  season.
• 0:58 | By having sixteen episodes we’re
  afforded the opportunity
• 1:02 | to deviate from the main
  storylines, and have episodes
• 1:04 | that have a smaller group of
  characters
• 1:07 | and we can tell these more
  intimate, emotional stories.
• 1:10 | And that was definitely the case
  with the second episode.

• 1:14 | – Bellamy!
  – No, slow down!
• 1:16 | Echo
  – Its closing.
• 1:17 | – We go through together.
• 1:19 | If we’re even seconds apart
• 1:20 | we could be separated by months,
  okay?
• 1:23 | – [Jeff] This second episode
  picks up
• 1:24 | directly after the first,
• 1:25 | with Gabriel and Echo and Hope
  leaping
• 1:28 | blindly into the anomaly.
• 1:30 | (water splashing)
  (deep breathing)
• 1:32 | So it picks up right from
  there so it sort of you know
• 1:34 | its a almost like a
  second part of that story.
• 1:37 | – Is this your house or isn’t
  it?
• 1:38 | – I was with you at
  Sanctum for what, a day?
• 1:41 | Given the time differential
• 1:42 | I haven’t been here for hundreds
  of years.
• 1:44 | – The season plays with time
  in a very interesting way
• 1:50 | and episode two is the first
  episode
• 1:54 | in which we really begin to
  unpack,
• 1:56 | what’s on the other side?
• 1:58 | – Enough, we need answers
  starting with,
• 2:00 | where the hell is Bellamy?
• 2:02 | – Bellamy is missing.
• 2:03 | – What is it about Bellamy,
• 2:04 | that has otherwise sensible
  women
• 2:06 | willing to die for him.
• 2:07 | – Feel like its important to
  point out
• 2:10 | that the reason that that
  story came into being,
• 2:13 | is that Bob needed to take some
  time off,
• 2:17 | and we came up with a story
• 2:20 | that allowed him to do that.
• 2:21 | – You said they use the bridge,
• 2:23 | now I’m assuming that’s
  what we call the anomaly,
• 2:25 | a bridge between worlds…
• 2:27 | – So we get to know
  Gabriel in this episode,
• 2:29 | and just more intimately,
  more emotionally,
• 2:33 | and we watch him navigate
  it’s highs and lows
• 2:35 | we find out that he
  has a sense of humor…
• 2:37 | – Yeah he’s great.
• 2:38 | Chuku has been an another
  amazing addition to the cast,
• 2:41 | series regular this season
• 2:43 | and really did step up to the
  plate.
• 2:46 | – You were here for six years?
• 2:48 | – I was here for 20 years.
• 2:50 | – We have a lot of questions to
  answer
• 2:53 | at the end of season six
• 2:54 | and we attempt to answer all of
  them
• 2:58 | over the course of the season.
• 2:59 | One of the goals that I
  set out for our writers
• 3:01 | when we sat down at the
  beginning of the season was to
• 3:03 | really leave nothing on the
  table,
• 3:06 | you know there were questions
  left hanging
• 3:08 | over the years that I
  wanted to try to answer.
• 3:11 | So we go pretty deep in
  the memory drive this year,
• 3:16 | and fill in some incredible
  blanks as we tell the story
• 3:19 | again starting in the second
  episode.
• 3:21 | – Yeah the beginning of
  an incredibly exciting,
• 3:24 | wild and satisfying ride.
