Black Summer is the show on Netflix which is created by John Hyams and Kari Schaefer which is basically based on zombies. The Black Summer is set in the z nation universe and is known to be the prequel for all the zombie thriller lovers. It has the thrill and excitement of the zombie but is also tilted towards more of a spiritual part. The Black Summer is known to have deeper and darker thoughts and ton as compared to the other zombie series.

The set of the Black Summer is based a lot more years before the z-Nation which is known to be the darkest era of the apocalypse of the zombies. The story starts with a mother searching for her children and the lost loved ones.  It has more of a spiritual connection as compared to the z-Nation and is very much different from the timeline of other zombie thrill movies.

Black Summer Season 2 Renewal Status

On an average basis, Netflix almost takes one to two months in order to renew a series and the information is generally given via their social media accounts. In the case of the Black Summer, we saw a complete silence until the October of 12019. In the first week of the October of the year 2019, an opportunity was given by the auctions on eBay and the site known as the HollywoodCharityAuctions.com to visit the sets of the Black Summer. There the news was leaked that the shooting of the Black Summer season 2 will start in the winters of the year 2019.

In the year 2019, in the month of November Netflix gave exciting news and much-awaiting news that Netflix has renewed season 2 of Black Summer and will be returning on the platform very soon. The Twitter account of Jaime King also had a post about the renewal of the second season of Black Summer which gave chills to the fans as they were eagerly waiting for any official news. There was also an announcement regarding the productions that Kylie Newman will also shake hands with Jaime King in order to produce the fantastic series or the much-awaited Black Summer season 2.

Black Summer Season 2 Production Status and Release Date

The news went viral when the audience came to know that the shooting has started in early 2020. The film shooting was then postponed for 2 weeks for some reason and was supposed to be back on track at the earliest.

But due to the pandemic, the shooting completely stopped. A report by the production weekly stated that the filming of the second season of Black Summer would restart from 17 the of august 2020. Further, the news came that the filming is again postponed and would restart from the 3rd of September.  The filming of the first season was without any pause as the shooting began in July 2018 and ended in September 2018. The film was shooting again in the same locations of Canada which was confirmed by the tweet of Karl Schaefer.

In the late September of 2020, they finally reported that the filming of the second of Black Summer has restarted and is going smoothly.  Some of the Reddit posts also claimed that the shooting also concluded in late October or early November but it has not yet been confirmed by any official.

Black Summer Season 2 Expectations

The opinions on the second season of Black Summer may differ from viewer to viewer. The last season ended with Rose and her daughter being together and cherishing some valuable moments with each other. Rose’s story finally concluded when she found her daughter. Sun who did not speak English may be looking for help.  Vallez was killed by Rose as he was slowing up the pace and most of the survivors were down due to injuries. The coming of the tsunami was hinted at in Black Summer season one but we never saw it coming. The next season of Black Summer may have scenes of the tsunami as most of the viewers aspire to see the shots.

We can definitely expect the second season of Black Summer as the story is linked to the z-Nation and the audience wants depth in the story. The zombies and the history, how they were created, and all the things which make it fascinating for the viewers. Hope that the renewal of the next season of Black Summer is done soon.
